Do I need a referral to see a chiropractor?

No referral is needed to begin chiropractic care at Alpharetta Family Chiropractic. You can schedule an appointment directly with our office. If your insurance plan requires a referral for coverage, our team can help you understand what your specific plan needs.

Is chiropractic care safe?

Yes. Chiropractic care is widely recognized as a safe, non-invasive, drug-free approach to managing pain and improving function. Our doctors use gentle, precise techniques—including instrument-based methods such as Atlas Orthogonal and the Activator Method—that are appropriate for patients of all ages, from infants to seniors.

What conditions do you treat?

We help patients with a wide range of conditions including back pain, neck pain, headaches and migraines, sciatica, hip and knee pain, shoulder pain, whiplash, vertigo, sports injuries, and car accident injuries. We also provide wellness and maintenance care to help you stay healthy.

What should I expect during my first visit?

Your first visit includes a consultation, a review of your health history, and an examination. X-rays may be taken if needed to evaluate your spine. The doctor will then discuss your condition and work with you to create a personalized care plan. We want you to leave feeling informed and confident.

Do you take X-rays?

We may take X-rays for new patients or when there is a change in your condition. X-rays help us evaluate your spinal alignment so we can deliver the most precise and effective care. Not every patient requires them—the doctor will determine what is appropriate for you.

What is Atlas Orthogonal?

Atlas Orthogonal is a gentle, precise upper cervical technique that corrects misalignment of the atlas—the top vertebra of the neck. Using X-ray measurements and a specialized instrument, the correction is delivered without any twisting or cracking, making it ideal for sensitive patients.

Does chiropractic treatment hurt?

Most patients feel little to no discomfort during treatment. Many of our techniques, such as the Activator Method and Atlas Orthogonal, use very light pressure, and patients often describe their adjustments as relaxing. Our goal is always your comfort and relief.

How many visits will I need?

The number of visits depends on your condition, its severity, and your wellness goals. After your evaluation, the doctor will recommend a personalized care plan. Some patients feel relief quickly, while others benefit from ongoing maintenance care to keep their bodies functioning well.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes, we welcome insurance and will do everything we can to help you receive the maximum benefits from your plan. Because coverage varies, we make a copy of your insurance card at your appointment to help estimate your coverage. Contact us at (770) 641-0029 with any questions.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept cash, checks, and debit cards, as well as most major credit cards including Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express. Payment is expected at the time of service, and we strive to make the process as easy as possible for you.

Can chiropractic care help after a car accident?

Yes. Auto accident injuries such as whiplash, neck pain, and back pain can develop hours or even days after a collision. Early chiropractic evaluation can identify hidden injuries and support a fuller recovery. We can also refer you to an experienced legal counselor if needed.

Do you treat children and seniors?

Absolutely. Our gentle, instrument-based techniques are well suited for patients of all ages, including infants, children, and seniors. We tailor each adjustment to the individual to ensure safe, comfortable, and effective care.

What is SoftWave Therapy?

SoftWave Therapy is a non-invasive regenerative treatment that uses shockwaves to stimulate your body’s natural healing response. It helps reduce inflammation, improve circulation, activate stem cells, and accelerate tissue repair, making it valuable for pain relief and injury recovery.

Do you offer physical therapy?

Yes. We offer on-site physical therapy through Adler Physical Therapy, located right within our office. Combining chiropractic care and physical therapy under one roof supports faster recovery, longer-lasting results, and a whole-person approach to your musculoskeletal health.
